Rivière aux Canards is the third title in the 155.io CCTV catalogue et le least streamed by a long way. That is exactly why it is the most readable. A live river feed with a fixed-count window has more environmental information per second than Course sur neige's slope or Heures de pointe intersection, et le AI counter is doing one job - counting waterfowl crossing the detection line. The Sous, Sur, Gamme and Exact bet types from the house edge guide apply identically, but the read is different. This is how to actually look at the feed.
The four things to watch before the round opens
The pre-round window is the only free information you get. Use it. There are four signals worth reading - they take about ten seconds combined et ley are the same four every round, regardless of which river the feed is on.
- Current speed. A faster current pushes ducks through the detection zone faster - meaning more crossings per round window. A slow, glassy stretch holds them in place and produces clustered counts that favour Gamme bets in the lower band.
- Bait visible on the surface. Floating bread, breadcrumbs or weed catches ducks at the line. If you can see bait inside the detection zone, the count almost always over-indexes. This is the most useful single signal Rivière aux Canards produces.
- Bank activity. Birds on the bank are about to enter the water. Count them. Two ducks paddling at the edge are a reasonable prior for two more crossings in the next minute.
- Sky and weather. Surcast and calm pushes counts up. Wind on the water and bright direct sun pushes counts down. Heavy rain breaks the feed assumptions entirely - watch a round before betting.
Why Gamme is the bet that earns its keep here
Across the three CCTV titles, the Gamme bet rewards the player who is right about distribution rather than the player who is right about a single number. On Heure de pointe the distribution is wide and noisy - vehicles bunch and gap unpredictably depending on traffic light cycles. On Course sur neige the distribution is bimodal because skiers come in waves off chairlifts. Rivière aux Canards's distribution is narrower and more central - the count clusters around the prior set by current and bank activity, avec thin tails.
That narrower distribution is where the Gamme bet pays. A tight three-count band sitting on top of the bank-activity prior is a structurally better bet than a corresponding Gamme bet on Heure de pointe. The Exact bet on Rivière aux Canards - 18x payout, 15-25% house edge per the RTP explainer - is still a sucker bet on house-edge terms, but it is a less ruinous sucker bet here than on Heure de pointe, because you are guessing inside a narrower distribution.
The bait-and-bank prior, worked
Say the feed opens with two ducks on the right bank, one duck mid-river drifting fast, et visible bait in the detection zone. The prior here is roughly: one almost-certain crossing from the mid-river duck, one to two crossings from the bank pair coming in for bait, plus the resident traffic the river already produces. A Gamme bet covering three to five crossings is sitting on top of the highest-probability outcome the feed is signalling. Sur/Sous at the same band is the lower-variance version of the same read.
The mistake to avoid is the inverse - betting Sur with no bait visible and no bank activity on a fast current. Fast current alone moves ducks through, but it also moves them through without stopping, et on most feeds the count is lower than the Sur line implies. A glassy stretch with no birds anywhere is the cleanest Sous signal Rivière aux Canards produces.
Why this matters more than it sounds
Aucun of this beats the house edge - the RTP is the RTP, et le jeu responsable guide still applies. What reading the feed buys you is variance reduction: fewer bad guesses, more bets that match the picture in front of you. Rivière aux Canards is live at Miser, Roobet and Mélanger; the parallel reads for the other two titles sit in the Heure de pointe traffic-patterns piece et le Course sur neige three-cameras piece.
